Meet the Founder
Education Shift was founded by Sheena Washington, an educator and consultant dedicated to closing the gap between how students learn and how they are taught. With 19 years of experience across private, public, and charter school settings, she has seen firsthand where traditional approaches fall short—and used those insights to develop solutions that are both practical and research-informed.
Her work centers on helping schools implement brain-based, sustainable strategies that strengthen instruction, support diverse learners, and build systems that last beyond a single training or initiative. With a focus on executive functioning, student engagement, and instructional design, Sheena partners with educators to create meaningful, lasting impact in classrooms
Having worked across private, public, and charter schools for nearly two decades, Sheena understands firsthand the challenges educators face — both in the classroom and in their careers. Beyond school partnerships, she is equally passionate about supporting individual educators who are ready to grow, transition, or take their next step forward. Inspired by those who poured into her throughout her own journey, Sheena provides career coaching that helps educators navigate their path with clarity and confidence. Having navigated her own career journey in education, Sheena understands what schools are looking for in candidates — and what it takes to stand out. That insider perspective is what she brings to every educator she works with.
